WE GO LITTERLESS

Zero Waste refers to the conservation of all resources through responsible production, consumption, reuse, and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning or discharging that endanger the environment or human health. One cannot deny that our waste disposal over the years has increased. We all should be responsible enough to do our role in order to suppress the escalating environmental issues by implementing the Zero Waste Management Program.     As an individual, we must start this program by ourselves.  We may start with basic implementations of zero waste management, such as practicing the avoidance of using plastics and styrofoam. We can simply use reusable things such as wooden combs, cutlery, and so on. We must learn how to recycle plastic bottles and other recyclable waste. Finally, we must involve or educate our family members or others in our lives in order to have a greater impact. It is easier for us to do such activities if people are awar

Libertad Largamente Esperada

The Filipino people have fought for independence from various colonial powers for generations. They have survived several wars in order to tell their stories and bring credit to their homeland. The country declared independence from 300 years of Spanish rule on June 12, 1898. Since then, the Filipino people have made several efforts to recognize and honor this significant historical event. Let us remember the troops we lost and the flag we proudly raise while we go about our daily lives in the new world, independent and free of bloodshed.          July 4, 1946 is the original date of the Philippines’ Independence Day. It is when the Filipino people finally got their long-desired independence from the United States of America. Since then, the country officially became the Republic of the Philippines. However, in 1962, President Diosdado Macapagal moved Philippine Independence Day to June 12, commemorating the 1898 Filipino proclamation. Both days should be honored and celebrate

My Safe Haven

Mother's Day is observed on various days throughout the world to honor the importance of mothers in our lives. From giving birth to raising their children into healthy adults, all moms play an important part in their children's lives. Only the mother has the ability to form a child's character and thus their entire existence. Every mother has a significant impact on her child's growth and development. She is concerned with whatever a child want. She recognizes that she is totally accountable for her child from the moment she wakes up until she falls asleep at night.           Mother is most likely the one with all of the power. A mother is the most powerful creature in the universe. In every situation, she can handle and control everything. In other words, God has granted her the authority to handle all of the world's concerns. A single Mother's Day celebration is insufficient to express gratitude to all of the world's mothers. At any cost, no one

The Batbat Festivity

Binatbatan Festival traces its roots to the abel weaving industry of Vigan which has been in existence even before the Spaniards came to colonize the Philippines. ”Binatbatan” is the process of beating cotton pods to remove the seeds for Abel weaving. Which locals interpreted as an occupational dance with the use of two sticks called ”batbat”. Binabatan street dance is one of the main attractions during the week-long celebrations. It evolved from this and majestically transformed today as the most colorful and significant festival to BigueƱos as it focuses on the remembrance of Apo Lakay's deliverance as well as promoting the local fabric, Abel Iloco.      The present COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all of us. Nonetheless, it is heartening to realize that we can still celebrate despite the conditions. We can't enjoy it as we used to because of the high risk of being infected by the virus and the severe health protocols that go along with it. We have less engagement with one

Abante Babae

"Women's empowerment" and "equality between men and women" are universal issues. The term "women empowerment" refers to the encouragement, inspiration, and celebration of women. It's also used to recognize the achievements of women and girls in terms of gender equality, financial independence, and self-confidence.         Women empowerment indicates addressing women’s power to create them proficient in taking decisions for themselves. Women have undergone a lot over the years in this men-dominating world. In more primitive centuries, they were criticized as almost non-existent human beings. As if whole rights belonged to men even the basic right such as voting. As time unfolded, women understood their power. Since then, the revolution for women’s empowerment started in this world.         “Feminism isn’t about making women strong. Women are already strong. It’s about changing the way the world perceives that strength.” This quote

Another Chapter Done

My third quarter in grade 10 is a rollercoaster ride. I was doing my best for the first week but then, my personal problems took a toll on me. I started to perform poorly. I cannot manage my time properly again.        I can’t really say that this quarter is better than the past quarter because my performance this quarter deteriorated. Though, ICT is not one of the subjects I have a hard time understanding and answering since I enjoy it a lot. ICT is one of the few subjects I found interesting. However, during the third quarter, I went through a lot of personal problems that affected me mentally and emotionally. I can not focus on my modules because I was busy coping with things. I often procrastinate because I go out to unwind most of the time.        I addressed these problems by slowly working on my problems first. I talked to my family members a lot to ease my raging thoughts. Since I suffer from insomnia again, i started taking sleeping pills and decided to eat health

Ensuring Safety for the Younger Generations

Since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the  COVID-19  outbreak a pandemic back in March 2020, the virus has claimed more than 2.5 million lives globally with upwards of 113 million cases being confirmed by laboratory tests. We all have been affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic. However, the impact of the pandemic and its consequences are felt differently. Our children were one of the most affected. Children are limited in almost everything due to the restrictions and strict health protocols that are implemented by the government. Considering the huge risk that one might get infected by the said virus; they are limited to go out and enjoy their youth as the older generations did.           However, the latest news that vaccines are available for teens and children is very pleasing. Before recommending COVID-19 vaccination for children, scientists conducted clinical trials with thousands of children and no serious safety concerns were identified. COVID-19 vac
